Blogging: Start to Finish in 30 Minutes

Remember those writing exercises in school where they gave you a topic and you had a set amount of time to write about it and when the time was up you were done?  Well I am going to try a little experiment here on the blog.

See, it takes me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to write - anything - and I have to write a lot.  I know my blogging probably does reflect the time I actually take to publish a post but I will admit if I come in under an hour I am doing good.  Writing, proofing, re-writing, adding pictures, etc it just adds up.  I enjoy blogging - even if it is for a small few who actually read.  I like having the memories and recaps for me and if I can help someone along the way all the better.  While I want to get my thoughts and memories down right now I do not have a lot of time to spend doing so.

Well, the only way to get better at something is to practice right?  So, in an effort to become a more efficient writer I am limiting my blog posts to whatever I can write in 30 minutes.  When 30 minutes is up the post goes up.  I can't promise it will be pretty in the beginning but my hope is over time my writing will improve and I will be able to say more - better - in less time.

Am I alone in my slow writing?  How long does a normal post take you?  Any tips?

Okay, ready, set, write!

AND because no post is complete without a picture, here is a picture of my bike with all the pink accents I was waiting on - pink water bottle cages and skewers!

  1. Ahhhh I have tried doing this & always fail. I am really good at writing blog posts "stubs," though, so if I log in & work on something for maybe 20-30 minutes at a time, I can at least get something decent posted in maybe 3 sittings... :P

  2. Hi! I found your blog after doing a google search for pink bottle cages. I just got my Trek mountain bike rebuilt and turned more into a city bike (put slicks on it), and got it powder coated neon pink. I love the black and purple top tube bag you have in this photo, and the pink one you have a few posts after this post. Could you please tell me what brand the bags are and where I could purchase them? Thanks so much! And I love your bike!

    1. Hi Dina - sorry for the delay but thank you so much for the comment. Your bike sounds really pretty too. I am a sucker for anything pink! The bag is by fuel belt - http://www.fuelbelt.com/ - they have many different bag colors and sizes. Hope that helps!
